It has been announced to Mac Mackenney that Land Rover wish to sponsor the Ecosalvage initiative.

This is a major boost to our operation and we are thrilled to have Land Rover as our main sponsors. It was considered that the Ecosalvage initiative is a worthy cause and one that will be of benefit to the environment, local communities as well as highlight the extreme capability of the Land Rover brand.

Mac explains:

"From the very outset when I conceived this idea to rid the British countryside of the plight of abandoned cars, I based it around Land Rover vehicles. Their superior capability over their competitors means that they are the only vehicles capable of dealing with the challenges that face us in the years ahead.

By Land Rover agreeing to support us, it means that we have the very best equipment available to our team. This will add a huge boost to their confidence, knowing that such an organisation is behind them, backing them up with advice and technical support.

I am delighted and honoured to have Land Rover as part of the team. I am sure that together we stand a real chance of making a considerable positive impact on the disgusting state of our countryside. I hope that other companies take Land Rovers lead and help us by supplying equipment that we need to complete the task"

It has also been agreed that Land Rover Gear will supply the team with rugged, high quality outdoor clothing for the project. Keeping the team warm and dry is paramount when working in tough and demanding conditions. Mac has tested Land Rover clothing in such places as southern Europe, the Middle East and Arctic Canada. In all cases the clothing performed remarkably which meant that the expedition team members could work at their optimum.
